In short: No. Bumble does not offer a profile search by name. There is no field where you type “Alex” or a legal surname and pull up matching accounts. What people call “name search” on Bumble is really scrolling Discovery after setting filters.

Why people expect a name search

Google queries like “bumble profile search by name” sound reasonable because:

Social networks (Facebook, LinkedIn) do have people search
Profiles show a first name at the top of every card
Other products advertise “search by name” for dating apps

Bumble’s product is built for mutual matching, not for looking up acquaintances on demand. A public name index would make stalking trivial, the company deliberately avoids it.

If you insist on staying inside the app:

Set Date (or BFF / Bizz) to the mode you believe they use, profiles do not cross modes.
Narrow age to a tight band around what you know.
Shrink distance if you know their neighborhood or workplace area.
Scroll and look for a familiar face or bio detail, not for a search-results list.

Hard stops: Snooze, Incognito, wrong gender preferences, Travel Mode elsewhere, or simply never appearing in your deck.

Knowing the first name does not change any of those mechanics. It only helps you recognize a card if it appears.

Common-name problem

“Sam in London” or “Maria in Madrid” can match thousands of accounts. Without:

Approximate age
Distinctive photos or bio phrases
A known suburb or workplace zone

…a first name alone produces noise, not certainty, even on platforms that do support structured lookup.

What does not work for Bumble name search

Typing the name into Bumble’s UI (there is no such tool)
Asking Bumble support to “look someone up” for you
Assuming Beeline lists everyone with that name (Beeline = people who already liked you)
Paying for Premium expecting a name directory

If you also need Tinder (name + age + city)

Some people use more than one app. Bumble Discovery cannot query another network’s database.
